Week five of our self-isolation might have been the most uneventful week yet, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Two weeks ago, we had to evacuate our building when the fire alarm went off. Last week, we had some bad and/or potentially bad news to navigate. So an uneventful week was somewhat welcome.
Work, in general, has continued to be surprisingly busy as we keep trying to adjust to providing more and more library services online.
Although we still have the occasional bouts of restlessness, Holly and I are managing home life quite well. We’re still enjoying the time together at home and our once in a while trips out of the apartment.
We did add a new activity to help keep our days varied. We dusted off the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring Deck-Building Game. I had gotten for us either for Holly’s birthday or Christmas probably in 2013. We used to play it all the time, mostly on Sunday nights after dinner. At some point, we must have grown tired of it and hadn’t played in in quite a while. But we are very glad we broke it out again because we really do enjoy playing it.

I did finally get around to editing the macro pictures I’ve been taking around the apartment. I shared a post of my macro photos of my watches, and I should be sharing another post soon of more macro shots.
I still haven’t decided whether or not I want to start developing my own film. On the one hand, it seems like a good self-isolation project. On the other hand, I still have concerns about using the chemicals in our apartment and finding a place to store them.
At some point, I may send whatever exposed rolls I have off to be developed. The place I’ve sent to before, Richard Photo Lab, is still open and has some explanation on their site about how they are working to keep their staff safe.
I’ll probably wait until I have another roll or two ready to go not only because it’s more cost effective to send a bunch at once (because of shipping) but also to see what the general situation is.
Other than my macro photos, it’s been another week of taking pictures of our take-out

And of our home cooking.

It’s hard to believe we’ve been at this for over a month! Still fairing pretty well. Obviously, one of the difficult parts is not knowing how long this is going to last. I’m guessing the current stay at home conditions will be in place until at least the end of May. Maybe by June, there will be some loosening up, but I doubt the restrictions will be fully lifted for quite some time.
