A little while ago, I tried Lomography Berlin with my Canon AE-1 and wasn’t all that thrilled with the results. Based on that experience, I wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about trying the roll of Lomography Potsdam I had, but, luckily, I was much more pleased with those results. I used it in my Olympus OM-1.

Before getting this role developed, I had listed my OM-1 as one of the cameras I intended to set aside for a while. The good results I got with this roll made me second-guess my choice but given some of the mechanical issues I’ve had with the OM-1, I think I’ll stick to my plan to take a break from it and focus my energy on some of my other cameras.
For the first 14 photos from the roll, I used my Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 lens. Holly and I had taken a walk to Franklin Square. We don’t often go to Franklin Square but did return to it during our May Staycation. I used my OM-1 along to walk to Franklin Square and while we were there, but I switched to my Olympus Pen EE-3 for the walk home.
The worst photo from the roll happened when I was trying to take a picture when some guy came up wanting to get his picture taken. I tried taking it too quickly and the picture was out of focus.

My picture of just the statue wasn’t that great either.

But other than those, I was pretty pleased with the results.

For the rest of the roll, I switched to my Tokina 28mm f/2.8 lens.
Back in April, there was an incident where an oat milk company had placed ads on top of existing art in the city. It was an egregious defacing of public art. Shortly after, Philly artists returned the favor by pasting art on top of the ads. Holly and I went out looking for examples but found only a couple.

I took a few other pictures of public art during that walk.

I finished the roll on one of our walks to and from the Delaware River.

The main reason I had some images that didn’t turn out well was because I didn’t get the focus right. For the photos that did turn out better, I was pleased with the quality of the Lomography Potsdam. I currently have a bit of a backlog of 35mm film so I won’t be getting any more rolls anytime soon, but I am interested in trying it again. I do have a 120 roll of it so I’ll be giving it a try in one of my medium format cameras at some point.
