Minolta X-700 with Kodak Tri-X

I’ve been eager for some nicer weather so I was glad that September came around.

However, early September was still hot. Holly and I went out the Sunday of Labor Day weekend hoping for a decent walk, but we didn’t get very far. Nonetheless, we had a nice walk in our neighborhood and ended up at American Sardine Bar for a couple of beers.

I took my Minolta X-700 with me loaded with Kodak Tri-X 400. I used my Minolta MD 50mm f/1.7 lens.

Fortunately, a week later, the weather was much nicer and we took a long walk to the Race Street Pier and the Cherry Street Pier. The walk was long enough that I was able to finish the roll of Tri-X.

I took quite a few photos on the way to the piers.

The most notable feature of the Race Street Pier is that it runs right alongside the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. There was also a really cool art installation near the entrance to the pier, Weaver’s Knot: Sheet Bend by Ball-Nogues Studio.

The Cherry Street Pier is just south of the Race Street Pier and also offers great views of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. It also has an enclosed section that includes works by a variety of local artists.

As usual, I was happy with the results from my Minolta X-700. It is one of my most reliable cameras and combining it with a quality film like the Tri-X was bound to end well.

After I finished that roll, I took a few more photos at the Cherry Street Pier and on our walk home with my Nikon Z fc, but I’ll post about those pictures later.
