Canon Rebel 2000 with Kodak Pro Image

I had been getting film from the Casual Photophile Film Club monthly until I decided to quit the club back in the spring. My main reasons for quitting were that I was starting to get a backlog of film, and I also started losing interest in arbitrarily trying new films. I’ve settled into knowing some of the films I like and feel more informed about film in general so prefer to choose what different films I try.

Although I canceled my subscription to the film club a few months ago, I still have some of the films I had gotten through it, one of which was a roll of Kodak Pro Image 100. I had gotten a roll of that once before and shot it with my Minolta X-700. I liked the results then and, similarly, liked the results more recently. I shot it with my Canon EOS Rebel 2000.

I went out with it on three occasions. The first of which was on a short walk that Holly and I took to the Schuylkill River. No actual pictures of the river were taken, just the walk getting there. We had hopes for a longer walk, but it turned out to be a lot more humid and uncomfortable than we thought. We basically turned around and went home once we got to the river.

I was still in my practicing with longer lenses phase and used my Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens.

Our next walk was on Labor Day to one of our favorite places, Second District Brewing. All the pictures on the walk there were also taken with my 85mm f/1.8 lens.

I also took some pictures of our meal with my Samsung Galaxy S9+.

My final outing with this roll of Kodak Pro Image was on a longer walk along and near the Schuylkill River Trail on a much nicer day.

We walk along the river fairly often so it feels like there isn’t much new to take pictures of. I was rather unsure of what lens I wanted to use and ultimately decided to go with my Canon EF 17-40mm f/4. I was really glad I chose this lens since I don’t use it very often. Although it was a very familiar walk having this lens made it seem a little different.

There were also some lingering after effects of Hurricane Ida in the river and along the trail.

Given that I liked both rolls I took with Kodak Pro Image, I bought a 5-pack and may rely on this film for our upcoming California trip.

On the one hand, I would have missed trying out this film I really like if I had not been a member of the Casual Photophile Film Club. On the other hand, there have other film stocks that I have not like or have been neutral about. I was glad to have been a member for the couple of years that I was, but, as I mentioned, I think my time for that kind of experimentation has passed.
