As I mentioned in my Spring 2021 Staycation post, Holly and I took a short train ride to the Camden Waterfront. Most of the pictures I took there were with my Canon EOS Rebel 2000 with my EF 24-105mm f/4 lens. I really enjoy putting my fancy lens on my old film camera. I loaded my penultimate roll of Fuji Color Pro 400H. When the news broke that Fuji is discontinuing this film, I had 2 rolls on hand so I still have 1 left.
I decided to use this film because the combination of that camera and that lens usually yields good results. Plus, I figured the walk along the waterfront would provide good shooting opportunities which it did, but, unfortunately, it was a rather cloudy day so the pictures aren’t quite as good as they might have been on a brighter day.
The train let us off right at Camden’s City Hall. I took a picture when we first arrived but, recognizing that it had cleared up a bit by the time we were leaving, I took another shot on our way home a couple hours later.
The road we took to the waterfront brought us to about the middle of the path that runs along the Delaware River. We first went north which gave us nice views of the Philadelphia skyline and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.
The southern part of the path brought us by the Wiggins Park Marina and the Battleship New Jersey. I had only seen the battleship from a distance from the Philadelphia side of the river and had no sense of exactly how big and impressive the ship is. Once we’re more comfortable with being in enclosed spaces, we might want to take a tour. For this trip, seeing it from the outside was sufficient.
I almost finished my roll while at the waterfront. After our walk along the waterfront, we took the train back to Philadelphia and went to Franklin Square to play mini-golf.
I took one picture of a statue outside of the African American Museum in Philadelphia.
I then finished the roll trying to get a good picture of the fountain at Franklin Square.
